Margaret Wyngaard
My art is usually born out of an obsession with a certain material. I fall in love with the colors and texture of a material, and then go about figuring out different ways I can incorporate it into my work.

Our children, Ben 5 and Sebastian 2, have been the inspiration for my latest work: the Lullaboos. We are continually amazed by these boys who welcome each day with an abundance of energy and happiness. They remind us to notice the obscure beauty that surrounds us. Ahh - to remember what the world was like as a child: sometimes scary, sometimes gross (if we were lucky), but always magical.

The first Lullaboo was created out of necessity when Sebastian stopped taking his nap. Remembering my son's love for his best friend Fiona's hand knit doll, I fashioned a doll for Sebastian. My son clung to his "baby" and fell fast asleep. The doll got a lot of exposure, since C-Bass could not be without his baby and took it with him everywhere. People loved the doll and asked that I make dolls for their children. I made more dolls and gave them to friends and family. Word spread quickly and before long, the dolls were being carried in small boutiques in New York City.
Wyngaard Design, LLC

My husband Peter and I launched Wyngaard Design, LLC in 2006, combining our complementary strengths to work on projects we are passionate about. Peter has a strong business background, and a passion for music and computers. I love creating art and striking design.
The Lullaboos are our first product line. With Peter's help, I took my one-of-a-kind dolls and developed several characters based on our children and their best friend Fiona. We streamlined the production so that artists in our community could help sew our beloved Lullaboos.

Lullaboos, when we finally came up with a name for our dolls after several months of brainstorming, seemed like the perfect fit. The Lullaboo Legend is evolving every day as our dolls have taken hold of our hearts and beg to tell their stories. Look for tales of the Lullaboos sometime in the near future.
